Mega Malaysia Property Showcase, PWTC
We just saw this on the banners along the road - the 16th Mega Malaysia Property Showcase will be held this weekend, details are as follows:
24-26th February 2006
11am to 9pm
Free Admission
Open to Public
The event will be officiated by Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting and is organized by Exhibition Guide (M) Sdn Bhd.
We’re trying to get a list of property developers that are participating in the event, but it seems that exhibition doesn’t have much of a web presence. Maybe we’ll try calling them later today.
Also looking ahead, MAPEX (KL) is coming soon, too. It’ll be on 3-5 March. This event is organized by REHDA Wilayah Persekutuan (KL) Branch, and will be at the MidValley Exhibition Centre (MVEC).

Seems to be a “property overhang” with so many property expos being held. Especially with yesterdays increase in the OPR, the BLR is bound to increase and this will affect property sales. What do you guys think?
Btw, there is a typo above. “3-5 Marjch” should be 3- 5 March.

definitely getting more and more expos. iproperty site lists down a few more upcoming exhibitions, but i haven’t mentioned it here. the thing is that developers can’t resist participating in these things, the publicity, crowd effect and lure of POTENTIAL sales is sometimes too irresistable for them.
but i think for ppl like us, these expos are a good place to gauge the market pricing, trends and locations. cannot buy so we look see only lor…

Having been to quite a few of these expos, I have to say that the majority of the developers there are trying to sell property that are not in demand or are in some middle of nowhere place. The really good properties don’t need an expo to sell.

i think the big developers do participate only in BIG expos, like the recent MAPEX. all the big guns were there - SP Setia, Gamudaland, BRDB, etc.
but for the smaller expos, yes you’re right, its usually small players with small developments…
