Taman Puchong Tekali Phase 2: Freesia and Candytuft
Yes, you read it right, the name of the house type is ‘candytuft‘. Well, you can’t blame them for using all-too-common names like ‘Lily‘ or ‘Orchid‘.
Anyway, Puchong Tekali was launched almost two years ago, and the first phase is about ready to be handed over to the buyers. Now comes the 2nd in the series of many other launches (coming soon), and these are 20’ x 70’ and 22’ x 70’ linkhomes at a slightly higher price.
This development is located off the main road where there are lots of other new developments, you can read them here for comparison and also our views regarding the area.
Taman Putra Prima: Phase 4A (Beryl & Ivory)
Taman Tasik Puchong: Venezia
Lake Vista @ Taman Tasik Prima Puchong (Vista 1 & 2)
Putra Homes 1, Taman Putra Impiana
Desa Impiana, Puchong Prima
Desa Impiana Condominiums
Bandar Nusaputra (Phase 4 Kayangan)
Bandar Nusaputra Phase 5 (Teratai)
Bandar Nusaputra: Begawan (Phase 3)
Generally, this place is near an ex-mining pond, but Puchong Tekali is not, their brochure and salespeople go to great lengths to emphasize “Prime Non-Mining Ex-Plantation Land”. The location map on the brochure show a connection to North-South Central Link (leading to KLIA), but in reality, this connection doesn’t exist yet, and they probably can’t say for sure when this connection will be built. There is also another proposed link near Bandar Nusaputra and Amanputra, but again, that still non-existent yet. In future there is a planned connecting road out to Puchong Prima and on to Puchong Perdana, but again, it’s still all on paper at the moment.
Anyway for the moment, the proper exit and entrance for this development is via the LDP, where traffic in the peak hours is getting heavier by the day.
Anyway for Phase 2, there are about less than 100 units of each of the two types of Freesia and Candytuft. Both unit types a quite different, we’ll be looking at them separately.
Freesia, the 20’ x 70’ unit type, has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The design is quite good, with a well-spaced kitchen and porch. The larger Candytuft, at 22’ x 70’ looks better with a more contemporary design, and larger spaces. They actually maximize the rear of the house here, with the building line up until the 10’ reserve. There are also 4 rooms, but with 4 baths. All the bedrooms upstairs have attached baths.
At the moment, there are only a few rows of the first phase ready, but there are some amenities planned, like parks, shops, playground, etc. Buyers should ask clearly when these amenities are going to be built, some developers take their time with these non-SPA stuff, so caveat emptor…
The land’s freehold, but homes are going a little expensive for this area.
Sales office for this project is in Taman Industri Puchong opposite Bandar Puteri. Tekali refers to the developer’s name, probably not so much to do with the Sg. Tekali, which is nowhere near Puchong.
A little interesting note on the brochure – in the location map, there is a mention of a “overfried bridge”. Eh? I’m thinking they mean “overhead bridge”. Gee, don’t they proofread these things?

actually, there is no proof that high tension wires can adversely affect one’s health. electromagnectic fields is highest at the source and then it drops off very quickly with distance. the guidelines is that you are safe if your house is min 100 m away….

Dear All,
You would have noticed that the access road leading to our residence is rather muddy and dusty, all must give credit to our developer and the operator of the sand mning site right adjacent to the houses of Taman Putra Prima. Worst when it rains, the road become muddy and slippery and the mud will filled the drain holes which caused flash flood in many past occassions. Poor Tekali and Putra Prima residence who is living in the midst of the dust. Pity be to the motorist and cyclist who become dust suckers. I have been collecting evidence of the same, including some cogent photos. I am appealling to all of you to collect evidence and report the same to the state authority as well as other relevant authorities. I will be highlighting this issue and fowarding all evidence to the press and the authorities. Please, it is time to clean our neighbourhood!!!
After my last post, I notice that the lorries have now change their route, they now passing though Taman Putra Prima, not sure if this has anything to do with the developer. These lorries are huge and they are driving fast in our neighbourhood endangering the residence. More often than not they are overloaded and part of the mud and sand will flow over to the road. Furthermore, as garnered from what I saw, the legality of the site and the operation is rather suspicious.
Pls keep our neighbourhood safe and clean.
