The escalating cost of land and profit objective of developers have re-phrase the definition of Semi-D (one side detached, therefore 10ft fulfill the requirement) and bungalow (both sides detached, therefore 10ft on both side suffice). Gone are the days where you have a drive way leading to the porch with lanscaping along the way or where one has to go to the gate to see who's ringing the bell. I guess that's why condo living is catching up leaving only the super rich with the "real" bungalow. Absolutely right, Alfred. In the good olde days Mansion, Detached House, Cottage, Bungalow all are surrounded by plenty of spacious land with fruit trees and flowering plants. Some even have land for their kids to play football too. And most at least have land that can at least accomodate a badminton court, a basket-ball court, a fountain, a lotus pond and two garages. Nowaday most you can get is merely 3-metre land on both sides and behind and if you are very lucky you may squeeze in 2 or 3 BMW in front. And all this for anything from 2 to 5 million bucks too. At least one Condominium in Bukit Jalil came with 4-parking bays it and cost less than 300-K ; plus all the 5-Star resort-like facilities too. Those 3-Storey Semi-D at Tropicana Areas looked more like those Vocational School Hostels we built in Melaka. Where got exclusive style and artistic forms & functions.
